Control Over Pin States and Logic Levels

The default chain configuration for XJAnalyser is for each device to be in EXTEST mode. This suspends all normal functionality of the devices in the chain and gives the user manual control of both the input/output state of the devices' external pins, and the driven levels of those pins that are outputting. The signals at all pins are captured with each JTAG scan and displayed in table and/or graphical form.

The user can therefore use XJAnalyser to apply voltage levels on driveable pins, or to set a toggling high/low voltage signal. XJAnalyser can be used to monitor the results of this where it can be read via JTAG, or an oscilloscope can be used to trace the signal across the circuit to places that JTAG has no direct reach.
