Adding files
To add files to the library, click on the 'Add Files' button. This will allow you to browse your PC and select files you want to add.
While adding the selected files, the library automatically detects the manufacturer of the device to which the file relates. This is done by matching the manufacturer code, extracted from the ID code in the file, to the industry standard JEDEC manufacturer code (©JEDEC).
The files are then added into the hierarchy categories with the same names as the detected manufacturers. If the required categories do not exist then they are automatically created and added to the bottom of the current hierarchy.
On some occasions the library is not able to detect the manufacturer. In this case the file will be added to the 'Default' category.
This initial categorisation of the files can be altered if you want to reorganise the files.
If the library cannot recognise one of the files being added as a BSDL file it will display an error and the file will not be added. The library will continue to try and add any remaining files. When this error is displayed you have the option to not display the error again for any other files that cannot be added.
If the library encounters a BSDL file that contains an undefined custom cell type you will be prompted as to whether you want to locate a package file containing the definition of the missing custom cell types. Such BSDL files can only be added to library once the package files are identified.
