User Privileges

User privileges define the level of access the users have to different features in XJRunner. User privileges are set when adding or editing a user via the user management dialog.

Selecting a username from the Clone User dropdown will populate the dialog with the privileges of the chosen user.

User privileges are overridden by any privileges disabled by the XJPack file. (e.g. If the user has full Enhanced Testing privileges, but the XJPack file has disabled Enhanced Testing privileges, the test list will not be accessible.

Enhanced Testing - At least one Enhanced Testing privilege is required for the test list to be visible on the main screen.

• Edit test list/Loop tests - The user can run any of the tests from the XJPack file in the Run Tests screen, not just those in the list of Default tests. For example, there may be extra debugging tests, to pinpoint problems on a board. Enhanced testing also allows the user to run any single test a number of times or in a continuous loop.
• Project Options/Set Frequency/Set Global Variables/Connection Test/External Hardware - Enable the corresponding tabs on the Enhanced Testing Options dialog.

Project Management - At least one Project Management privilege is required to be able to open the Project Management dialog.

• Test Output/Runtime Dialogs/Functions/Serial Number/Log File/Fault Dictionary - Enable the corresponding tabs on the Project Management dialog.

N.B. If disabling the Test Output, Serial Number or Log File privileges you may also want to disable the Project Options Enhanced Testing privilege to prevent the user from changing these settings from the project defaults for the duration of their XJRunner session.

User Management - Enables use of the User Management dialog to create other users and modify their privileges and passwords.

A user without any Enhanced Testing, Project Management or User Management privileges is described as a Basic User. All users can run the Default tests for a project.

Layout Viewer - Enables use of the Layout Viewer tool.

Schematic Viewer - Enables use of Schematic Viewer.
