Menu Items
XJDeveloper uses menus at the top of the screen to carry out a number of functions. Most of the menus are always present but some will only appear on certain screens or in certain circumstances.
The following menus are always present in XJDeveloper (although they may not be available in some situations, e.g. when tests are running or when no project is open):
- File menu - opening, saving and importing projects and files.
- Edit menu - undo, redo and context-specific edit features.
- View menu - display parts of the GUI which are currently not visible.
- Tools menu - access the various features for exploring the circuit and the available library files.
- Help menu - get help using XJDeveloper or XJTAG in general.
The following menus are not always shown but appear in relevant contexts:
- Debug menu - appears when code file editors are open - set or remove breakpoints, debug running code.
- Run Tests menu - available from the Run Tests screen - start testing or debug running code.
- Pin Mapping menu - available from the Pin Mapping screen - contains options for the Chain Debugger.
- Analyser menu - available from the Analyser screen - gives access to the functions of the XJAnalyser application which would normally be accessed via its menus.
When separable screens are used, some menu items may be transferred from the main XJDeveloper menus to those of the separated screen. Screen-related menu items will be available from the newly separated window and project-related menu items will remain on the main XJDeveloper menu.
Toolbar
Some features are more easily operated using the toolbar, which also appears at the top of XJDeveloper.
