Cursor Tools

There are two cursor modes available for use in XJAnalyser: the pointer tool and the zoom tool. To switch cursor modes, either select a mode from the Tools menu or right-click within the chain view to display a list of available cursor modes.

The pointer tool

The pointer tool is the default cursor mode, and is used for navigation within XJAnalyser. With the pointer tool activated, you can change the scroll position of the chain view by clicking a blank part of the view and dragging to the desired position.

The zoom tool

The zoom tool allows you to focus easily on a specific section of the chain view. With the zoom tool activated:

  • Incremental zoom - click on a portion of the chain view to zoom in incrementally toward the position of the cursor. Performing the same operation whilst holding the Ctrl key does the reverse, zooming out from the position of the cursor.
  • Marquee zoom - click and drag the zoom tool over a portion of the chain view. You will see a black box appearing: after you release the mouse button the chain view window will zoom in on the contents of this box. To zoom out, repeat this operation whilst holding the Ctrl key.
