Configure Test Device Dialog
The Configure Test Device dialog allows a test device file to be assigned to a test device and any additional settings for the device to be configured.

Device file
This is the XJEase device file to associate the device with. The grid contains possible definitions for the device. To choose a definition, click the row in the table. These suggestions are made from XJEase Libraries, using the BOM data for the device, or from existing categorisations if no XJEase Library suggestions are found. It will also list other possible XJEase device files used by other devices in the circuit.
- Click
Create File... to create a new blank device file if needed. You will then need to write some test functions for the file or adapt some from another file. This can be done on the Test Device Files Screen.
- Click
Browse Library... to open the XJEase Library Browser to select a device file from an XJEase library.
- Click
Browse... to open an existing device file from disk.
Configuration
If the chosen XJEase device file requires configuration, then the Device Configuration Table is shown; or the Configure Multi-Sourcing button if the file is multi-sourced. If multi-sourcing has been enabled for the selected device file, then the Configure Multisourcing button will be displayed instead.
Properties
- Show Warnings
- Can be unchecked to suppress warnings if necessary.
- Device Note
- Use for any notes you wish to make about the device. The Recently used notes... dropdown list stores the 5 most recent notes made when categorising Test Devices.
Add Tests
If XJDeveloper has determined which test functions are available in the chosen XJEase device file, then the Tests panel is shown. All checked test functions are added to the project once the OK button is pressed. If the Auto Test List feature is enabled then all tests will be checked by default. The Tests panel also displays which test group any functions will be added to and whether they will be selected to run by default.
Click OK to confirm this test device configuration and return to the main screen.
Once a device has been assigned as a Test Device it will appear in the "Test Devices" section of the Categorised Devices list.
