Manually Create Board Wizard
The Manually Create Board wizard allows you to add a board to the project even if you do not have the netlist for the board. It will take you through specifying pinmap, learning the chain, settings BSDL files for the discovered devices, setting power and ground nets and constant pins, and finally automatically learning connections between JTAG devices.
There is a tutorial to take you through setting up the demoboard without using a netlist.
The wizard has the following pages
- Setting basic board information.
- Setting the pinmap used by the XJLink.
- Setting BSDL files for the device discovered in the JTAG chain.
- Setting the power and ground pins on the JTAG devices
- Setting any pins which should be kept constant while the Learn Connections tool is run.
- Automatically detecting connections between the JTAG devices.
Setting up a board in this way requires performing JTAG scans, so the board must be connected to a JTAG controller before starting the wizard. If using an FTDI device, you must also select which channel is connected to the JTAG chain.
