Initialising the Chain
Problem: No valid chains found.
This message is displayed when creating a new project or opening an existing project.
Solution
- Check that the USB lead is connected to your PC and to the XJLink and that the board is correctly powered, either via the USB or externally.
- Check that the pin mapping is configured correctly for your board.
- Check that you have selected the correct power option for your board. For an externally-powered board, select Non-USB powered. For a USB powered board, select USB powered.
- If this fails, consult the general JTAG Chain Initialisation guide.
Problem: Hardware error
There is a problem with the connection between the USB and the target hardware.
Solution
- Check that the USB lead is connected to your PC and to the XJLink and that the board is powered, either via the USB or externally.
Problem: I get a message similar to "A parse error has occurred. Details: device.bsd(102): cell type IO not found."
This message may be displayed when adding a BSDL file to the library that uses custom cell types.
Solution
- An application note on the XJTAG website describes this problem and its solution.
Problem: A device is not displayed correctly: e.g. incorrect number of pins.
This is most likely to have occurred because the BSDL file is incorrect for the device in question. XJAnalyser gets the information that it uses to draw devices from the BSDL file.
Solution
- Check that you have selected the correct BSDL file for the device.
